Decent value, slight hiccup

I booked a sailing boat rental for a week in Turkey. The pricing was competitive, especially with the early bird discount I managed to get. The booking process was mostly smooth, and the customer service responded within a day or so to my inquiries. The boat itself was good, but the snorkeling gear we rented extra wasn't in the best condition. It was a minor point though, didn't really affect the trip much. Overall, good value for money, just a small improvement needed on ancillary equipment.

Always a smooth charter

I booked a bareboat yacht charter in Croatia for the third time with Yachting this year. Like before, the process was straightforward from picking the boat to confirming all the details. The communication was prompt whenever I had questions. It's why I keep coming back; the reliability is key for these kinds of trips.

Easy holiday booking

My friends and I wanted to do something different this summer, so we rented a catamaran in Greece through Yachting.com. Honestly, I thought it would be a huge headache, but it was surprisingly easy. The website was pretty clear, and we found a great deal. Everything went off without a hitch once we got there. Definitely a good experience all around.

Good boat, quick booking

Rented a motor yacht for a week in Italy. Booking was simple online. Boat was as described. Pick up and drop off were efficient. No issues during the trip. Would use again.

Detailed review of our charter

We booked a crewed yacht charter for our family vacation in the Caribbean through Yachting.com. The ordering process was quite detailed, which I appreciated. We had specific requests for the crew and provisions, and their support team was helpful in coordinating everything. Delivery of the yacht to our starting marina was on time, and the crew was excellent. The yacht itself was clean and well-maintained, exactly what was pictured. The only minor point was a slight delay in getting a final itinerary confirmed, but it was resolved before departure. Overall, a solid service for luxury charters.

Hey, thinking about booking a catamaran for a week in Croatia this summer. Do I really need a license or can I just wing it with some sailing experience?

P Paula 1 month ago
Nah, you definitely need a proper license for most charters in Europe, especially for bareboat stuff. They're pretty strict about it.

Yeah, I think it depends on the boat and country. For bareboat, pretty sure you always need one. But you can usually add a skipper through them if you don't have one, that's what I did last time.

How long does it take for a booking confirmation to come through? I put in an inquiry for a yacht in the Caribbean for next winter.

N Neil 4 weeks ago
It can vary a bit. When I inquired, it was pretty quick, like within a day or two for an initial response.

Mine took a couple days, I think, for the actual confirmation after I paid. They're pretty responsive though in general.

Is Yachting.com legit? Saw some good deals for Greece but haven't used them before, wondering if it's a real company.

L Lisa Brooks 1 month ago
Yeah, they're legit. Been around for ages, like since 2006 or something. I booked a boat with them a few years back, no issues.

Totally legit. They're a huge agency, not some fly-by-night operation. They just connect you with boats, don't own them themselves.

Anyone compared Yachting.com to Zizoo or Click&Boat? Trying to figure out which one is better for finding a good deal.

P Paula 1 month ago
I've used both Zizoo and Yachting.com. Yachting.com seems to have a wider selection sometimes, especially for specific types of boats. Prices felt pretty competitive across the board though.

Honestly, I usually check all three. Sometimes one has a better price for the exact same boat. Yachting.com has been around longer though so they have a lot of inventory.

Anyone know how the early bird discounts work? Like, do you need a code or does it just show up on the price if you book way ahead?

L Lisa Vargas 1 month ago
From what I saw when I booked my trip last year, it's usually just applied automatically to the price if you're looking at dates far enough out. Didn't need a code.

L Laura V. 1 month ago
Yeah, pretty sure the system just bakes it in. Specific codes are pretty rare, maybe for special events or something. Most deals are just 'book early' or 'book last minute' rates.

What's included in the price for a typical bareboat charter? Is it just the boat, or does it cover fuel, cleaning, stuff like that?

T Tom 1 month ago
Usually just the boat itself. Fuel, port fees, cleaning, and sometimes even things like dinghy outboards are extra. Always check the fine print.
4
M Marcus 1 month ago
Yeah, definitely not everything. They usually itemize it out when you get the quote. Fuel and end-cleaning are almost always on top.

Can I cancel a booking if my plans change? What's their policy like, is it super strict?

T Troy 1 month ago
It depends on when you cancel. They have a policy, but it's not super flexible if you're close to the departure date. I'd check their terms.
1
F Faith 1 month ago
Yeah, their cancellation policy is pretty standard. The closer you get to the charter, the less you get back. Best to look at their official info for the exact details.

Planning a last minute trip for September, does Yachting.com usually have decent last minute deals for like, a week or two out?

J James 1 month ago
They totally do! I got a pretty sweet deal on a motor yacht for a spontaneous trip to Italy once, booked it maybe 3 weeks before. Just keep an eye on their site.
4
N Noor Kim 1 month ago
Yep, last minute deals are a thing. Can sometimes get up to 20% off if you're flexible on exact boat or location.
